It is already almost the month of July. I leave for college in less than 2 months!!!!
Here is an update on my busy summer:

~ I got a full-time job - I am working at The Goddard School in Wake Forest. It is a good job, just busy and at times overwhelming!!!

~ I graduated from High School!!!! - Graduation was amazing, fun, happy and sad all at the same time. The ceremony went great. Amanda and I sang the National Anthem. My party was tons of fun. I enjoyed being able to fellowship with my family and friends, especially the ones that I haven't seen in a while.

~ I went to the beach for a couple of days - 3 of my friends came with me to the beach for 5 days. We enjoyed body surfing, digging holes, and just hanging out with one another. My family came too which made all the more special!!!

~ I did Tae Kwon Do sports camp - so on top of working from 8-5 Monday-Friday, 2 weeks ago I did Tae Kwon Do sports camp. It was so much fun. I got to hang out with good friends, play with amazing kids, and most importantly help teach the campers about Christ's love for us. It was soooo much fun, but tiring.

~ I did Vacation Bible School - this past week I did VBS at our church. I helped in a 3 year old class. It was fun, but again tiring. It was the Big Apple Adventure. We traveled to "New York" to learn about how Jesus loves us!!!

~ Next week I go to ECU for orientation!!!! - I am excited that I will finally be able to see my dorm, get my class schedule and start meeting new people.

~ Then I am off to Costa Rica - I am sooooooo excited for this trip and I cannot wait for it to come. We will be redoing an orphange there during the day, playing with orphans at night, and spreading the love of Jesus. I am also excited because we get to go zip lining on the last day that we are there!!!!

~ I am going to the beach for a week - I can't wait to be able to lay out and relax at the beach.

Wow...I am tired after writing all of that...I can't believe I have done over half of that list. I am looking forward to see what else God has in store for my summer. I hope I continue to stay energized and that I will still be able to enjoy my summer and hang out with friends!!!!Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-22252409158282816192011-04-07T10:20:00.005-04:002011-04-07T10:46:17.948-04:00I am a Senior! I am a Senior!Sometimes, I have to remind myself that I really am a senior. I think as the time gets closer to graduation, I rebel against the fact that, in reality, I am a Senior.

My Senior year has had its ups and downs. I have finished classes, started classes, and had good classes and bad classes.

Last semester, I didn't feel like a Senior. I had the most hectic semester I think I have ever had. I was always going to this class, studying for another, and trying to have a life in between.

This semester has been a lot more laid back and (as of right now) I feel like a Senior. I told my mom the other day that I wasn't going to graduate, but that I was going to be done with school. I don't think I am scared about going to college. Don't get me wrong, I have had many an ulcer over going to college, finding a roommate, making new friends, and finding a church. However, over the last couple of weeks as things have started to take shape, I finally came to the realization that I don't need to worry, I have God on my side!!!!!

I think, because of my "I can do it myself" personality, that I could handle all of my stress by myself. However, recently, I have just had to step back and give everything to God. Having done that, I have had some "mini-miracles" in my life. I wanted to share some of those with you:

1) I decided to go to East Carolina University this coming fall. - I had been struggling with picking the right college. I wanted to go to UNC Chapel Hill. However, I didn't get into UNC. God closed that door for me and opened up another. My mom told me that she felt that God decided that that decision was too hard for me, so He made that decision for me!

2) I found a roommate. - Living with someone I didn't know was a dark cloud over my head. I knew that I needed at least one person to be there at ECU with me. A couple of weeks ago, I was at a youth retreat with my church and there was a girl in my group that had just recently decided to go to ECU. We started talking over the weekend. A few days later, the girl's mom called and asked if we wanted to be roommates!!!! I was SOOOOOOOOO happy! Again, God showed me that He is in control.

3) I am going on a mission’s trip to Costa Rica. - Normally, I go to Texas each summer. However, this summer I decided that I wanted to try something new. I have never been anywhere (especially out of the country) by myself. I have always had a parent, a sibling, or a friend with me. However, I think God was trying to show me that I will be just fine going somewhere to shine His light (by myself :-) We found this trip 2 days before the final sign up deadline!!!! That was definitely a God thing. I am so excited to go on this trip. We are going to repaint cottages, play with 75+ orphans and go zip-lining through the jungle!!!!

So, I have had an exciting few months.

Some things that I have been up to lately:

1) School - Lots and lots of school :-)
2) Zumba Dancing - I LOVE Zumba dancing!!!!!
3) Teaching Tae Kwon Do - I teach 4-8 year olds on Tuesday nights.
4) Sunday School - I have the best Senior Sunday School class ever!!!!!
5) Spending time with my family!!!
6) Spending time with my friends!!
7) Trying to not die of excitement over Prom!!!!!!!!!!! - Prom is in less than a month away!!!!!!!!!!!
8) Getting all of my stuff ready for Graduation!!!
9) Enjoying life!!!Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-7209061296524910692011-01-28T15:06:00.000-05:002011-01-28T15:06:24.849-05:00This Is The Stuff Lyric Video

This song explains me!!!Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-5681318808129302882010-08-10T20:42:00.004-04:002010-08-10T21:59:57.850-04:00Wow...Summer is almost OVER!!!!I have been very busy the last couple of weeks. I have been gone for 3 weeks total. First week I was at Worldview Camp in Lynchburg, VA. Second week I was in Del Rio, TX. The third week I was at Topsail Island.

Worldview:
Worldview camp was AMAZING. It was so much fun. We were at Liberty University. I was in a suite with 7 other girls. I shared a room with one of my bestest friends, Amanda. We had so much fun. We did a lot of walking, sitting, listening, eating and laughing. Here is a mini schedule of our day from my perspective :-)
1) Get Up
2) Meet small group leader and walk down several big hills and through a tunnel.
3) Have Quiet Time
4) Walk some more and then eat breakfast.
5) Walk to the lecture hall and then have 2-3 lectures (they were amazing lectures about different worldviews and how to study your bible etc.)
6) Eat Lunch
7) Have small group time
8) Walk some more and then on Mon. and Tues. we had free time or Ultmate Frisbee, on Wed. we went out and evangilized, and on Thurs. we had the SPAMLEY CUP. The spamley cup was when the 4 color groups competed against each other in a relay (The colors were red, yellow, green, and blue. I was green. Blue won) It was a lot of fun.
9) Walk down the hills and through the tunnel to Supper.
10) Have 2-3 more lectures
11) Walk back up the really big hills and through the tunnel (while singing)
12) Have another small group time where we talked about our day and just laughed :-) ALOT!!!!
13) Then Bed time
Then we did it all over again. It was an amazing time. I met some really awesome girls and I LOVED my small group leader. It was an altogether AMAZING week :-)

Texas:
I got picked up a day early from Worldview because I had to leave for Texas the next day. I got home and repacked and then I was off to the airport to leave on my missions trip to Texas. This was my 3rd year going but my 1st year going without my dad or Owen. It was SOOOOOOO much fun. I had a great time. I go with my Tae Kwon Do group. Our whole group was amazing. We had so much fun together. The kids were incredible. The week was tiring but amazing. While I was there Master Jamie and I got locked in the shower trailer. There is only one shower inside and there were 9 girls. So, every year the church where we stay brings in a shower trailer. It is powered by this really loud engine thing :-) There is one side with four showers for the girls and on the other side the boys have four showers and there is a door that connects the two but it is always locked. So, I had gotten out of the shower and had just finished brushing my teeth (just to let you know this was all at like 6:30 in the morning and I am not a morning person). I went to open the door and the handle would turn but the thing on the inside wouldn't move. Master Jamie and I were not very happy :-) We tried to get the door open but it wouldn't budge. I started banging on the middle door, yelling and screaming for help. Luckily, Mr. Kent heard me and went and got the key to try and unlock the door. It wouldn't unlock. So, Mr. Kent went and get Master Cromwell and he used his credit card and got the door open. Needless to say, I did not take a shower in the shower trailer for the rest of the week :-) Other than that, Texas was amazing and so much fun. You could definitely see the Lord's work.

Topsail Island:
Then I got back from Texas at 11pm on Saturday and straight from there we went to the beach. It was a lot of fun. The first couple of days I was really tired but I finally got rested and was able to enjoy it. There was a sea turtles nest on the beach right next to where we were staying. We sat out there for 4 nights from 8pm-12pm. No turtles came. On the 5th night we didn't go out there right at 8 and all of a sudden we see all these people running. The turtles had hatched. So, we dropped everything we were doing and ran out to see the turtles go into the ocean. It was really cool and I am glad we got to see it. There were about 100 baby turtles in the nest. They were so tiny and very cute. On Monday my face got terribly sunburned so for several days I looked like Bob the Tomato from VegiTales. It was not pleasant :-) I was still able to enjoy my week. We played games, went fishing, and just hung out. It was a great way to end the summer.

Now school starts next week and I will be a Senior in High School. That shall be fun. I will let you know how that goes soon :-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-39919039880518727802010-07-06T17:47:00.003-04:002010-07-06T18:56:59.222-04:00Summer!!!!Wow...I have not posted in a very long time. The last time I posted it was a couple of days before prom. Well, if you were wondering prom went great. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I can't wait for next year. I have been so busy these past few months. You would think that when school let out everything would slow down a bit. Well, not for me!!!!
Here is an overview of my summer:

June:

* TKD sports camp - I love doing TKD sports camp. It is a lot of fun. However, it is also very tiring! We have 2 sports camps. A morning one for kids ages 4-7 and a evening one for ages 8-12. I did both camps because Ian went to the first one and Alexa went to the second one. So I drove them everyday. It was very tiring but still fun. During all of this my dad and Owen were in Kentucky on a missions trip! We hardly saw each other all week.

* Two weeks ago was VBS at our church. My whole family participated. I helped in the 4 year olds. Owen and my mom did 5 year olds. My dad did 5th grade and Alexa and Ian were in it. It was a lot of fun. The teachers, crafts, stories, and music were all fantastic. I had a lot of fun.

* I also went and stayed with my grandma for a few days. She is a teacher so I helped her clean her room. It was fun.

* On June 30th, the 3rd Twilight movie, Eclipse came to theaters. At midnight on the 30th, my mom, my aunt and I went to see it. It was the best one yet!!!

July:
July has hardly even started but it has been busy already and it is about to get even busier.

* For the 4th of July we went camping. My dad got a tent for father's day and then he got the camping trip for his birthday. We had a good time. It was a little (very) hot and the bugs were terrible but we had a great time none-the-less :-)

* This week the boys are getting their room re-done.

* One of my bestest friends in the whole world is turning 17 next week so we have to celebrate her birthday at some point this week :-P

* The week after next, I am going to Worldview Academy Camp at Liberty University. It is hopefully going to be tons of fun and a great time for me to be able to grow and learn.

* I have to get picked up from Worldview Camp early because on that Friday I leave for a missions trip to Del Rio, TX. This is my 3rd year going on the this trip but this will be my first time going alone. The first year my dad went with me. Last year my dad and Owen went with me. I am excited and nervous at the same time but I am sure it will be fun :-)

* Then I get back from Texas the following Saturday at 11pm. Then the next morning we are going to the beach for a week. I am going to be so tired. But what can I say. It's summer.

Then it is the 2nd week of August and school starts the next week.

Man, I am tired just typing all of this and now I have to go and physically do it :-) Well, I will have to let you know how it goes...if I survive!!!!! :-PEmilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-29377723495603758392010-05-05T14:24:00.002-04:002010-05-05T14:29:40.171-04:00PROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Prom is only 2 days away. Now I know what some of you are thinking, "Homeschoolers don't have proms!" or "Homeschool Proms are boring." However, this is not the case for this prom. My friend Amanda and her mom are in charge of the prom committee. My mom and I and several other moms' and daughters' on also on the committee. We have been planning this Prom since last July. That is almost a year. I can hardly believe that it is already here. I am so excited. This is going to be the best prom in the whole world. Homeschoolers from all over are coming. We have about 120 people coming. Some are coming with dates, some are coming with a group of friends and some are just coming by themselves. However no matter how you come or who you come with, EVERYONE is going to have a great time. At least they better because a lot of love, thought and devotion as gone into this prom!!! I will tell you all how it goes :-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-52940244765909291662010-05-03T18:00:00.003-04:002010-05-03T18:41:32.218-04:00The SAT kills your Brain!!!!!On Saturday morning, my alarm clock went off at 6:15am. I turned over and was slightly confused at why I would be getting up this early, because I am not a morning person, and then I remembered....I had to get ready to leave for the SAT. The worst and longest test a person can ever take in their entire lives!!! So I left the house promptly at 6:50am to go pick up my good friend Amanda. She and 2 of my other friends had to suffer through this test with me. Amanda is also not a morning person but we were on the road towards Millbrook High by 7:05am. We got to the school around 7:25am because I wanted to get there early so that I could make sure I got a good park. Amanda and I followed the mass of people and waited outside for instructions. Forty-Five minutes later, Amanda and I were both assigned to Building 100. Amanda was in room 132 and I was in room 127. My room didn't actually start the test until 8:15am. The test is said to only take 3 hours and 45 minutes but I am pretty sure it takes a lot longer. The test consists of 1 25-minute Essay, 6 25-minute sections, 2 20-minute sections, and 1 10-minute section. Needless to say, it is an extremely long test!!!! :-) I didn't get done with the test until 1:15pm. We only got a break every 50 minutes. They were only 5 minutes long and we only had 3 of them. After we all finished, we all went to lunch at Panera. I think that is one of the best lunches I have ever had in my entire life! :-) On the way home I also stopped and got a large tea from Bojangles. It was very yummy. Then I went home and watched Sherlock Holmes. I liked it. When the movie was over, my dad asked me to run to the grocery store to get some stuff for dinner. I didn't want to go but I went anyway. I had the hardest time trying to find things in the store that I knew I knew where they were. I only had 7 things on my list and it took me 1/2 an hour to find 3 things. I could not find the pizza sauce, the pizza cheese, or the bacon bits. I was talking to myself and wandering up and down the same aisles over and over. It's a wonder that Food Lion didn't kick me out! :-) I finally found everything I needed and started heading towards home. I decided to go the back way because there aren't any traffic lights that way. I got to the railroad tracks and stopped because those tracks make me nervous because you can't see around the curve and it isn't protected. So I started over the tracks. Then all of a sudden I hear metal scraping across the pavement. So I pulled my car over into someone's front yard, turned on my hazard lights and got out to see what was making that noise. There wasn't anything! So I got back in and tried to go again and the sound started again. So I called my dad and told him I hadn't wanted to go to the store in the first place and now my car was making a terrible sound and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. He told me he would be right there and to just stay where I was. While I was waiting several cars came and went past me and no one stopped to ask if I was okay and needed help. I was thinking to myself that the people of Youngsville were not very helpful or friendly when a man (who wass quite scary looking I might add) slowly passes me and asks me if I was okay. I said that I was and that I was waiting for my dad to come. He asked me if I had run out of gas. I politely said that I hadn't but that my car was making a terrible sound and that my dad would be there any minute. While I was saying this I was thinking, "I know when to put gas in my car. I am not dumb! What do I look like a Damsel in Distress!" However, I decided that it would have been rude to say those things because 1) He was an adult, 2) He had stopped to ask if I needed help, and 3) He was scary looking :-). After the man was convinced that I was okay he went on his way. So finally my dad got there and and told me to switch cars with him so he could listen to the sound to figure out where it was coming from. We had to get it home some how because I was parked in someone's front yard. So he gets in and cranks it. It made the sound once and then didn't make it the rest of the way home. Apparently, I had picked up something from the railroad tracks and it just happened to fall of when my dad drove it! :-( So when we got home I just decided that it wasn't my fault that I couldn't function properly. I decided that it was the SAT's fault because I had used up all my Brain Cells that morning while taking it and that my trip to the store and my car episode was the last straw and so my brain officially died. However, after I got some sleep my brain has slowly come back to life. I don't think it is fully alive yet but it is getting there :-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-26657982557391175062010-04-14T13:14:00.002-04:002010-04-14T13:20:02.827-04:0010 Interesting Facts about Me!!!!These are just some things that I think are interesting about me.

1) I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

2) I love Chemistry.

3) I am a major "Walker, Texas Ranger" fan. Yesterday, we were learning about giving up all our worldly possessions in order to be Christ's disciple. We all felt that we would give up our worldly possessions for Christ but that we wouldn't give them up very willingly. So, this week we decided that we were going to give up one of our worldly possessions. Boy did we have a hard time deciding on one thing to give up. Everyone had something different that they were willing to give up. Then someone suggested that we all give up FACEBOOK!!!! Facebook is a big thing in all of our daily lives :-) I get on several times a day. Getting on Facebook is how I stay in touch with the world. Not all of us were willing to give up Facebook. However, we finally agreed and so the 4 of us will be off of Facebook for a week. Monday to Monday. So far I haven't missed Facebook (at least not very much). Without getting on Facebook, my email isn't very full either so I am kind of taking a break from that also. I haven't been keeping up with blogging lately so I decided that since I couldn't get on Facebook I would update my blog. This is going to be good for me. I am sure I will have much more free time this week because I am not getting on Facebook so many times a day. I will make sure to post and let everyone know how it goes :-) But for now I am off to work on Algebra II homework and get ready to leave for Spanish.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-52060896314572081662010-01-26T12:32:00.002-05:002010-01-26T12:37:42.742-05:00I don't like Growing Up!!!!I don't want to grow up. I want to be a kid forever. Ok not really but it feels that way sometimes. This past Saturday I took the SAT for the first time. I couldn't believe that I was actually taking it. I always thought that Juniors and Seniors in Highschool were really old. However, now that I am one I have realized that they really weren't all that old. I am not ready to leave and go to college. I just want to stay home. It's hard to believe that I will be looking at colleges this summer. It makes me feel really old and really young at the same time. Yes, I do want to go to college but not now. I'm not ready. I am not ready to grow up and take responibility. Can't I just stay young a little while longer. I guess not. No matter how much I want to stay young I am constantly getting older. That's just how life goes. I will just have to suck it up and be a big girl :-( Hopefully I will feel older someday but right now I just don't want to grow up.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-55265413517405110992010-01-04T17:34:00.003-05:002010-01-04T17:40:25.223-05:00Happy New Year!!!!Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a great Christmas/New Year break. It has been a long time since I have posted. Here is an account of what has been going in the last 3 1/2 months:

1. In June/August Owen, my dad and I went on a missions trip to Acuna, Mexico and Del Rio, TX. We did a TKD sports camp and a couple of Demos.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDfHhh830rCETXVKCuIw7WdYLCz-vuz8GeYXE7lMUQCdmnVpOD0wKw25mr6OM4WgPbmJlPPW9Hj600EiKHx1CXCGFKgOYd3D4a5UzQC6FEtsd_mjqK2PXND7NK6yzQ4tlPX4v_5GfmbUM/s320/005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400649353755799714" />
This is Owen crossing the Texas/Mexico border!

2. Also in August we took a family trip to the beach. We were all there. Mom, Dad, Me, Owen, Alexa, Ian, Josh, Amanda, Grandma, Pawpaw, Tim, and Maranda (Teagan was there to but you couldn't see her :-)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcMBWsCqyIxtCHoNR66Y7iNLho5d839XHqsf0gpgsiMnVGW58Jrc-JQwMxPwwO568CmxwFMZQt3YINmokfLfL-FS8FfnAGLPCoNXvYTSaPut28kAGID5DcVnxehaAEC4_UIRiS0FqKlZY/s320/032.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400650316536561122" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKLir3tURYphaxA_6CrAAZ2tv5DQvDnZF-5F98HNFsBeT1zO5XMx1_AlhAV7v2JNzTbV7YDn93Z-S4wip3Col1QrEdCgL2Y9chC7XMjzgpwNKuBL-h-2Pip7_2_aLJT6S5HkTmw_4Jgbo/s320/031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400651012427764594" />
These were taken while we were waiting in line for the Sea Turtle Hospital. On Sept. 14 (my mom's birthday) I had my tonsils and adnoids removed. It was terrible. My throat hurt so bad for a really long time afterward. I thought it was never going to go away.

5. Ian turned 7 on the 25th of Sept. We also had Mule Days that weekend.

6. In the beginning of October Teagan Marie Horst was born. Tim and Maranda were very excited. All the rest of us were too :-)

7. In the middle of October I did a Big Sis Lil Sis retreat at me church. It was a lot of fun. Abbey was my Little Sis.

8. Last weekend we went to CHerokee, NC. We have been learning about the Cherokee Indians in school and so my mom took the opertunity to go for a field trip/short vacation. We all had a great time.

9. At the end of October we had Anchorsoul. Mom and Alexa were a part of Jr. Anchorsoul. Dad and I were a part of Sr. Anchorsoul. I was a guide along with Leigh. We had a lot of fun, but we were also very tired at the end of the week. Daddy played the Jerk. Alexa was a kid in a Sunday School class and mom headed up Jr.

Now it is already November. I am in a bible study called the Truth Project which is a lot of fun. Coming up this month: I have Disciple Now at church. I am playing in the Powder Puff football game with my homeschool group. I am going to see the movie "New Moon" with mom and Trish!!! Thanksgiving is coming and I still have to fit school in there somewhere:-) Soon enough it will be Christmas. This year has flown by so fast. It has been a year of good times, bad times, painful times, fun times, and tiring times. It amazes me that all of those things can happen in just one year. I can't believe I am already a Junior in Highschool. Next year I will be a Senior and then it is off to college. Life just goes by so fast. Sometimes I wish it would slow down. However, I wouldn't want to trade my life for anything :-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-50258085676138443692009-07-20T13:35:00.005-04:002009-07-20T13:51:02.329-04:00What Are Sisters for?<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmIVz7j2RUxmJSfEgfOLbuJ7RLJ6Tyr57U-WnYzwAQhitReXs9izb5ZmF1Clnq6rePMpemaWS4OtAUdltoNptnO_2Kc-W-ZECvmi2-oF51mdYJK8CPZgE4fOe0Pbfn-QA6lFv_Bvhfsi4/s320/074.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360597950890613954" />

I love having a sister. I enjoy spending time with my sister and doing fun things with my sister. A couple of weeks ago Alexa and I had the privilege of being at home by our selves. Our parents were out on a date, Owen was at a friend's house and Ian was at our grandma's. Alexa and I watched a girly movie and just talked. It was a lot of fun. After we were done watching the movie I decided that I wanted to do make-overs. Now most of you know that I can not wear just any kind of make-up. If I do put on just regular dress-up make-up there is a possibility that my face with swell and I could get a fever. However, at this particular moment I wanted to do make-overs. So we did. Alexa had a blast and I had fun watching her have a blast. I did her first and then she did me. As soon as we were done I had to hurry and wash the make-up off so that my face wouldn't swell really bad. It had already started swelling a little bit which was normal. Alexa had a great time and I had fun too, minus my face swelling a little.

Alexa and I haven't always been as close as we are right now. I know that she is only eight and that we will most likely grow closer as we both get older. However, I hadn't ever felt as close to my sister has I did that night. We were both doing something that we both enjoy together. I am going to start trying harder to spend more time with Alexa and get to know her better. She can be annoying sometimes but she will always be my sister and nothing can change that:-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-73248557617743647282009-04-08T16:33:00.002-04:002009-04-08T16:38:50.922-04:00My Mosaic<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoa9EyUrPBkzg6_APHZdR-XLueNhhf0iQZ4AvUjVxb_6okM4PYqoBvuEJ0mKi5m8C8IBMG4bkjwDGE6H1luG02rs-nsGdaCHJ7tafsdN2AREruA9cY_YBcjQ9PATcdBuYZYXoeo4SwaC0/s320/mosaic2876449.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322422800420882066" />

I think that this Mosaic reflects me very well :-)

a. I had a great New Year. Several of our friends came over and we played games and ate ALOT of food until midnight. At midnight we did poppers and sparklers.

I have had a busy school year. I don't have a lot of free time but when I do have it I love to read and watch "Walker Texas Ranger":-) I am really enjoying my classes and my other subjects that I do at home.

Thursday, I got my hair cut. I was so ready to have it cut. I donated my hair to Locks of Love. This is my 5th time donating my hair. I really enjoy seeing how long it takes for me to grow my hair 11 inches. I like the idea that my hair is going to help a child who has no hair feel like they are normal and that they won't stand out amoung a group of people.

The Campbells brought their new baby home from Ethiopia this month. He is SO cute:-)

We went skiing a few weeks ago and we all enjoyed it. It was really nice to be able to spend almost a week with my dad before he really got into the "Tax Season Mood":-)
We also went tubing while we were there. I almost enjoyed that more than the skiing. We all had very sore shins and arms by the time we left at the end of the week:-)

My family throughly enjoyed the first snow of 2009. We played in it almost all day and then came in for some hot chocolate (and still managed to get our school and chores done) I had a cold at the beginning of that week so since I went out and played in the snow I could barely talk the next day:-) I just couldn't resist not playing in the snow. That was the most snow that I had seen in like 3 years:-)

I am still in a Homeschool Girls Choir. I am really enjoying it. I have loved to sing ever since I can remember. I used to sing more than I talked and Alexa is following in my footsteps:-) We just started our spring semester and we have some really neat songs. I have a video of one of our Christmas Songs that I may post up here soon.

The Super Bowl is tomorrow. My dad and my brothers have a party every year and all of their friends come over and they yell at the TV and eat "manly" food:-) I enjoy watching them:-) Last year my mom, Mrs. Tracy, Leigh and I all went to see the movie "27 Dresses". It was ok. So this year we are going to go out to eat and we are going to see another movie. I am not sure which one we are going to see.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my busy life and I will post pictures of my new hair-do and are ski trip.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-5615484785311804302008-12-18T10:18:00.002-05:002008-12-18T10:28:59.964-05:00It's that Time of Year!I love Christmas time. I love the cold weather and the cold nights sitting by the fire. I don't love Christmas just because I give and receive presents or because I get to eat yummy food. I love Christmas because this is the time of year that Christ is truly celebrated. Not that we shouldn't celebrate Christ all of the time but people seem to actually recognize that CHRISTmas is supposed to symbolize Jesus. People who don't go to church very often or people who don't come to church at all come to a Christmas Eve service because, half of the time, they feel like they have to but I think that it is better to come to church on Christmas Eve than to not go to church at all your whole life. When those people come to the Christmas Eve service they hear the gospel. What better way is there to present the gospel through the CHRISTmas story. The Christmas story (if told correctly) is so pure, simple and sweet. I just thank our Lord and Savior for giving us this time of year to TRULY celebrate, worship, recognize, and understand His TRUE and MIGHTY love for us.

I hope everyone has a Merry CHRISTmas and that everyone will celebrate Christ in everything they do this holiday season.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-82616254757095354632008-11-27T14:10:00.001-05:002008-11-27T14:12:42.157-05:00Happy Thanksgiving!!!Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I have so many things to be thankful for. I take a Chemistry class under a College professor. I also take a class that has Literature, History, Geography, and Writing. Two of my friends moms teach the class. So with both of those classes I have a lot of Homework each week. I am also a procrastinator and don't do my work until the last minute. In Writing we are writing a 10 paged research paper. That is going to take a while. I am also doing Geometry this year in Math and I am trying to finish my Language and Spelling for the rest of the year. On top of all that, I am testing for my 2nd degree black belt in 26 days. So I am training for that as well. Training for black belt takes up a lot of my time and so it is really hard to get everything done. I am also in an all girls choir. This is my fifth year in the choir. I really enjoy singing and several of my friends are also in the choir. So I am a very busy person and it is hard to keep up with it all, but I just trust the Lord that He will help me get through and get everything that I need to get done done!!!Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-25515371624291545072008-10-12T11:14:00.002-04:002008-10-12T11:21:50.137-04:00Ken's Corny Corn mazeLast night we went to Ken's Corny Corn maze. It is a 2 1/2 mile corn maze.I was in a group with Amanda and Ellie. It took us 56 minutes to get through the corn maze. We had a lot of fun. Each group gets a flag and a punch card. You are trying to find hole punches with the letter that you need on it. You carried a flag so that in case you couldn't get out you could wave it in the air above the corn stalks so that somebody could come and help you get out. We got lost several times and missed the boxes with the hole punches several times. Owen was in a group with Jason, Nathen, Mr. Rob, and Mr. Mark. Alexa and Ian were in a group with my dad and my grandpa. My group got out before Owen's group and Alexa and Ian's group. We were quite proud:-) Then afterwards we went to McDonald's for supper. After we were finished Ellie, Amanda, Alexa and I went and played on the playground. We knew that we were to big and we got stuck quite a few times:-) We took a video of each of us coming down the slide. It was really funny. We had a great time and I hope that we get to do it again soon.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-82220779034516986962008-10-09T15:36:00.002-04:002008-10-09T15:42:19.308-04:00She's gone:-(Okay, as most of you know my mom is gone for the weekend. She has gone to Mississippi to be with one of her good friend's. Her friend's grandfather past away yesterday. He was like a father to my mom's friend. Her friend called my mom 40 minutes after his death and my mom just felt like she needed to go. I totally understand that. But I miss her terribly. She just left this morning and it has only been 4 hours but it has felt like forever. She will get back late on Sunday. I guess I didn't realize how much I needed her until she wasn't here. I know she will be back but I still miss her. I am just glad that she is coming back home on Sunday. It is only 3 days. I haven't ever gone this long without her. My dad will be here at night but I am here with Owen, Alexa, and Ian during the day. At least he will be home on Saturday. We are going to Ken's Corny Corn Maze on Saturday so that should be fun. I hope the time goes by quickly.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-48834800185905209192008-09-24T13:10:00.003-04:002008-09-24T13:22:37.637-04:00Braces and Birthdays and Mule DaysI haven't been very good at keeping up with my blog. Since my last post I have had a birthday and my mom has had a birthday. I got my permit on my birthday. So I have been driving. It is a lot of fun and nerve racking:-) My mom had a good birthday. We got her a recliner. I am enjoying having the recliner:-) Ian's birthday is tomorrow. He will be 6 years old. It is hard to believe that he will be that old. I also got my braces today. I was a little nervous but they look great. They aren't too sore right now but I am sure they probably will hurt in a little while:-) Every year in September my family and I all go to Benson, NC for something called Mule Days. It is a lot of fun. There are funnel cakes, hot dogs, french fries, snow cones, and bloomin' onions. The town closes the main street so that you can ride your horses (if you have one) everywhere. We get there on Friday and leave on Saturday night. We stay with my great grandmother. We wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats. On Friday we go to the mule races and then that night we go to the carnival that they have there. Then on Saturday we get up and watch a parade. There are all kinds of things in the parade. Sometimes there are pony rides that Owen, Alexa, and Ian like to ride. I am very excited because Lillie (my dog) is coming with us. This will be her first Mule Days so I hope it goes well:-) She tends to have a barking tendency:-) I just wanted to update and share what as been going on. I hope to see most of you (who read this)soon:-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-54686165163444863972008-08-21T10:53:00.019-04:002008-08-21T11:29:25.665-04:00Pictures of the missions trip to Texas! These are some of the pictures I took in Texas. We had a great time. I was very thankful that Master Woolman had made it possible for us to go. When we got back we had to go do a demo at the mall, we did the same thing that we did at the church in Mexico. Then some of the girls went shopping. I went to the Wilson's and had a snack and played Uno Attack with Forrest. Then it was time for conformation. We had to do forms, a few kicks, and break concrete. I broke 2 pieces of concrete. I broke it wrong though and I hurt my wrist. I was just glad that the concrete still broke:-) Daddy and Mrs. Tina both hit theirs wrong and hurt their hands and wrists. We all sat around with bags of ice:-) We had Dominoes for supper. Then we went back to the lodgings and went to bed.

Day 9
I got sick this morning. So I stayed at the lodgings instead of going to church and slept for awhile. Mrs. Tina, Daddy, and Amy took good care of me:-) I was feeling better by the time they got back from church. We went to the Scheller's for lunch. They had a swimming pool. So we went swimming:-) When we left there we went to the church to teach the beginners class. Jackson and Taylor joined TKD. I helped in the beginners class the first hour and in the Little Gators the second hour. After that we went to the lodgings to pack. I took a shower and I packed up all my stuff. Then we went to Applebee's for supper. It was very yummy. Then we came back and went to bed.

Day 10
We got up at 6:00am this morning because our suitcases had to be in the hallway by 6:30am. We left at 7:00am. It was a 3 hour drive to the Antonio Airport and I slept part of the way. So it didn't feel like that long of a drive. We got to the airport at 10:15am and checked in our bags. Mine was exactly 50lbs. That is has heavy has it can go or you have to pay for the extra pounds. Then we went through security. After that we all ate some lunch. I had McDonald's. Then we boarded the plane and took off. We were on our way home:-)Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-72594235877653513592008-08-20T15:22:00.002-04:002008-08-20T15:32:48.570-04:00Day 7...Today was the last day of Sports Camp. Kayley led three older girls to Christ in her small group today. We practiced for the parents night. We set up for the second Sports Camp and then went to the lodgings to eat lunch. We came back for the second Sports Camp and then we had to set up for Parents Night. There was a little boy in the monkeys who became very attached to me. He decided that he wasn't going to go up and do the stuff or break a board in front of all the parents. So afterward Daddy was going to let him break his board but he refused to. His mom started to get frustrated with him so I asked her if I could try to get him to break his board. After about 15 minutes of trying to convince him to break it. He finally broke it! He was so proud of himself. He gave me a big hug and his mom took a picture of him breaking his board. Then after the parents night a few of us went to see the Batman movie "The Dark Night". Reid came with me and Daddy. Pastor Wilson's neice who was staying with them for the summer and I became pretty good friends. She came and with us and she sat beside me at the movie. It wasn't all that great. When we got back Amanda was upset about the movie. So Jill, Amanda, Maddison and I stayed up until 2am talking about the movie. Then we all went to bed.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3759621551900717001.post-38728790375820904452008-08-11T12:23:00.002-04:002008-08-11T12:36:18.240-04:00Day 6...This morning I got up and got ready for camp. We got to the church and I was asked to help in the beach volleyball area. It was not a very good place to be. The morning camp did okay with it, but the afternoon camp was terrible. They wouldn't listen, they were rude, and they would hit the balls really hard and the helpers would have to run and get them. Then this little boy who comes to the 1st camp came and helped me. He was there because his sister was in the afternoon camp. After that I helped Mrs. Sosa in her tumbling class:-) I don't know how I got chosen to help her in there! I can't tumble at all:-) Then Grandmaster Sosa was teaching the little gators. So Master Jamie told me to watch so that I would know what to teach in our school's little gator class. Tonight we went to Mexico to do a demo at a church. It was one of the most amazing things we did during the whole trip. The people at the church had a great and amazing love for the Lord. They cried, they danced, they laughed, and they even shook tambourines while they were singing and dancing. We did Kungfu Panda, One-Steps, The purse skit, Pirates, Breaking, and Secrets. I sis one-steps with Hailey. I did a regular round kick and a tornado kick to break my boards. Master Woolman preached and 6 people prayed to receive Christ. Kayley also led a little girl to Christ in her small group. On the way back from Mexico we stopped be McDonald's to eat supper. Then we all went to bed.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17341626096807466430noreply@blogger.com0
